Robotic Graffiti Tagger, Golan Levin

If you haven’t heard of Golan Levin you probably haven’t been paying attention. His work is both programing heavy and playfully conceptual. His Robotic Graffiti Tagger is just the tip of the iceberg considering Levin’s prolific portfolio.

I think this work is awesome, but I don’t understand why it is called “Robotic graffiti tagger.” I think the dehumanization of the artist is completely contrary to the artist-work relationship that is sacred in graffiti art. Graffiti isn’t so much a product as it is an experience.
